The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru, invites applications for one temporary position of Project Research Scientist I (Non-Medical) under an ICMR-sponsored research project titled “Silk based materials/devices for prognosis and diagnosis of type 3 Diabetes Mellitus, Alzheimer’s disease and their pathological nexus.”

The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. T. Govindaraju at the New Chemistry Unit, JNCASR. Candidates with a PhD in Chemistry or Life Sciences and research experience in Chemical Biology, Biomaterials, Biomedical Sciences, diabetes, or neurodegenerative diseases are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility / Qualification

Essential Qualification:

• PhD in Chemistry or Life Sciences.
• Good research experience and publication record.
• Maximum age limit: 35 years.

Desirable Qualification:

• PhD in Chemistry or Life Sciences with research experience in Chemical Biology, Biomaterials, or Biomedical Sciences.
• Candidates with research experience closely related to the project theme, particularly Diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s disease), and biomedical research, are encouraged to apply.

Job Description

The selected candidate will work on the ICMR-sponsored research project:

“Silk based materials/devices for prognosis and diagnosis of type 3 Diabetes Mellitus, Alzheimer’s disease and their pathological nexus.”

The research position involves working in the interdisciplinary areas of Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biomaterials, and Biomedical Research, focusing on the development of silk-based materials/devices for disease prognosis and diagnosis.
