Eligibility/Qualification

Candidates must possess the qualifications prescribed under the UGC eligibility criteria, including the UGC Notification dated 18 July 2018 and subsequent amendments, for the respective subject/post.

• Candidates with a Ph.D. may be engaged for PG courses against Assistant Professor positions.
• Candidates without a Ph.D. are also eligible for the applicable Guest Faculty category.
• Candidates must satisfy the prescribed academic qualifications as on the date of application.
• NET/JRF/SLET/SET qualifications will be considered as part of the selection criteria where applicable.
• Candidates should provide supporting certificates, mark sheets, degrees, publications and experience documents.

Honorarium

If a faculty member takes more than 40 classes in a month, they may also be assigned administrative work by the University.

Applicable statutory deductions, including TDS, will be made according to prevailing rules.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on academic and professional credentials, followed by a 10-minute demo class and viva voce.

The evaluation includes:

• Graduation academic record
• Post-Graduation academic record
• M.Phil.
• Ph.D.
• NET with JRF
• NET
• SLET/SET
• Demo Class – 25 marks
• Viva Voce – 25 marks

The demo class syllabus will follow the NEP 2020 UG syllabus and CBCS PG syllabus.

Job Description

The selected Guest Faculty members will be responsible for academic and research-related activities, including:

• Teaching assigned UG/PG courses.
• Conducting examinations and other academic duties.
• Guiding UG and PG research projects.
• Undertaking research and sponsored research projects according to applicable rules.
• Developing continuing education programmes in emerging areas.
• Participating in academic conferences, seminars, workshops and symposia.
• Undertaking approved consultancy/advisory assignments.
• Delivering invited/guest lectures at other institutions.
• Participating in academic and research committees when required.

Guest Faculty members will not be eligible for administrative or financial responsibilities.

Tenure

The engagement will be purely temporary for a maximum period of 6 months at a time, or until the vacancy is filled through regular appointment, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Continuation will depend on satisfactory performance during the quarterly review.
