Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha, Rourkela, invites applications for Regular Faculty Position at BPUT from eligible and interested candidates.

About- The Biju Patnaik University of Technology took its birth in 2003 with the laying of the foundation stone on the auspicious hand of the late Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the hon’ble President of India. Riding on the chariot of Public-Private Partnership, the University has grown today to a big family of 158 colleges and covers all the technical education systems of the country.

Eligibility/Qualification–

I) Professor:

Pay Scale (Professor): Rs. 1,44,200 — 2,18,200 at Pay Level-14 as per Odisha Revised Scale of Pay (for Teachers of Engineering College/ Degree level Technical Institutions I Universities) Rules, 2019 with DA & other allowances as admissible from time to time (relevant to pre-revised scale of Rs. 37,400-67,000 + AGP Rs.10,000 of Govt. of Odisha for the University/Institute).

Essential Qualification and eligibility criteria requirements (within last date of Application i.e. 16/08/2023):

Must have Ph.D. Degree in relevant field (Concerned Specialization).

AND

Must have First Class or equivalent either at Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch and 60% marks or 6.75 CGPA in aggregate shall be considered equivalent to first class if first class or division is not awarded by the concerned

institution or the equivalence CGPA as notified by the concerned institution. A copy of the notification must be attached for proof.

AND

Must have minimum 10 (Ten) years of experience in Teaching (In UGC & AICTE approved institutions)/ Research/Industry.

AND

Out of 10 years of experience minimum 03 (Three) years of Experience should be as Associate Professor or equivalent.

AND

Must have at least 06 numbers of research publication at the level of Associate Professor in SCl/UGC/AICTE/Scopus listed Journals and must have successfully produced at least 02 Ph.D as Supervisor/Co-Supervisor as on the last date of application.

Must have at least 10 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCl/UGC/AICTE/Scopus listed Journals as on the last date of application.

AND

At least a total research score of 120 (one hundred twenty) on the last date of the application (as per the criteria given in Appendix-II, Table-2 of UGC Regulations vide notification no. F.1-2/2017(EC/PS) dated 18/07/2018).

II) Associate Professor:

Pay Scale (Associate Professor): Rs. 1,31,400 — 2,17,100 at Pay Level-13A as per Odisha Revised Scale of Pay (for Teachers of Engineering College/ Degree level Technical Institutions / Universities) Rules, 2019 with DA & other allowances as admissible from time to time (relevant to pre-revised scale of Rs. 37,400-67,000 + AGP Rs.9,000 of Govt. of Odisha for the University/Institute).

Essential Qualification and eligibility criteria requirements (within last date of Application i.e. 16/08/2023):

Must have Ph.D. Degree in relevant field (Concerned Specialization).

AND

Must have First Class or equivalent either at Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch and 60% marks or 6.75 CGPA in aggregate shall be considered equivalent to first class if first class or division is not awarded by the concerned institution or the equivalence CGPA as notified by the concerned institution. A copy of the notification must be attached for proof.

AND

Must have minimum 08 (Eight) years of experience in Teaching (In UGC & AICTE approved institutions)/ Research/Industry.

AND

Out of 08 years of experience minimum 02 (Two) years of Experience should be post Ph.D experience.

AND

Must have at least 06 numbers of research publication in SCl/UGC/AICTE/Scopus listed Journals as on last date of the application.

AND

At least a total research score of 75 (seventy five) on the last date of the application

(as per the criteria given in Appendix-II, Table-2 of UGC Regulations vide notification no. F,1-2/2017(EC/PS) dated 18/07/2018).

Assistant Professor:

Pay Scale (Assistant Professor): Rs. 57,700 — 1,82,400 at Pay Level-10 as per Odisha Revised Scale of Pay (for Teachers of Engineering College/ Degree level Technical Institutions / Universities) Rules, 2019 with DA & other allowances as admissible from time to time (relevant to pre-revised scale of Rs. 15,600-39,100 + AGP Rs.6,000 of Govt. of Odisha for the University/Institute).

Essential Qualification and eligibility criteria requirements (within last date of Application i.e. 16/08/2023):

B. E. / B. Tech. I B. S. and M. E. / M. Tech. / M. S. or Integrated M. Tech. in relevant branch with first class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.

AGE:

Minimum Age Limit: The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years as on last date of application.

Maximum Age Limit: No age limit (Superannuation age is the maximum age limit by default as on last date of application).

Job/Position Description-

Applications in prescribed format along with details of qualification, experience and contribution to profession/ research are invited from Indian Nationals for the regular faculty positions (Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor) of Center for UG & PG Studies, BPUT, Rourkela.

Application Fees:

A candidate is required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs.1000/- (Rs.500 for ST/SC category) through SB Collect.

How to Apply-

The applications will be accepted only by Speed Post; No Hand Delivery is acceptable. In-service candidate(s) need to forward his/ her application through the employer or need to submit a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the employer at the time of interview. The sealed envelope containing the application form and other documents should be super-scribed as “Application for the post of Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in (Name of Department), CUPGS, BPUT, Rourkela” and reach to “The Registrar, BPUT, Chhend, Rourkela -769015” on or before 16/0812023.

Separate applications in separate envelope must be submitted, if a candidate is applying for a faculty position in more than one department / post.
