Research/Job Area-
RGCB is seeking scientists to establish independent multidisciplinary research programs in areas including:
- Cell engineering for affordable disease treatment and management.
- Molecular diagnostics and nanobiotechnology for cancer care.
- Therapeutic target discovery, drug discovery and delivery using cellular, molecular, preclinical, computational AI/ML and imaging approaches.
- Bioengineering for cell therapy, vaccines, vaccine testing, molecular diagnostics and immunotherapeutics.
- Biotherapeutics, synthetic immunology, immunotherapeutics and drug-antibody conjugates.
- Biosensors, innovative diagnostic devices and future diagnostic pathology, particularly for preventive healthcare.
- Cardiovascular disease and diabetes biology.
- Plant biotechnology and disease biology, including spice genomics and medicinal plant biology.
- Cancer genomics and basic/experimental cancer research.
- Pathogen biology, molecular pathogenesis, virulence, host-pathogen interactions, virology, systems biology and advanced diagnostics.
- Neurobiology, including molecular and cellular neuroscience, neurogenetics, brain development, neural stem cells and translational/clinical neuroscience.
- Regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Scientist C
- Minimum Qualification: MD, PhD or equivalent.
- Relevant postdoctoral experience in the relevant subject area.
- Strong record of high-quality, peer-reviewed publications as first and co-author.
- Product-development scientists should have strong experience in technology development, patents, industry transfer and commercialization.
- Age Limit: 35 years.
Scientist E-II
- Minimum Qualification: MD, PhD or equivalent.
- Minimum Research Experience: Five years of postdoctoral experience.
- High-quality, peer-reviewed publications as first author, co-author or corresponding author.
- Skill-based contributions to large multi-author publications will also be considered.
- Product-development scientists should demonstrate an excellent record in technology development, patents, technology transfer and commercialization.
- Age Limit: 45 years.
Scientist F
- Minimum Qualification: MD, PhD or equivalent.
- Minimum Research Experience: Eight years of postdoctoral experience.
- High-quality, peer-reviewed publications as first author, corresponding author and/or co-author, including contributions to large multi-author publications.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and lead research groups will be considered.
- Product-development scientists should have an excellent record of technology development, patents, industry transfer and commercialization.
- Age Limit: 50 years.

Selected scientists will be expected to:
- Establish and lead an independent multidisciplinary research program at BRIC-RGCB.
- Conduct innovative research in one or more of the institute’s identified priority areas.
- Develop high-impact research programs addressing biotechnology and disease biology challenges.
- Publish research findings in high-quality peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Develop translational, clinical or applied research programs where appropriate.
- Pursue innovation, technology development, patents and commercialization opportunities.
- Establish collaborations with interdisciplinary research groups and external partners.
- Generate substantial extramural project-based research funding.
- Contribute to the development of RGCB’s research and R&D programs.
- Participate in collaborative and interdisciplinary research initiatives.
Successful investigators will receive shared laboratory space and adequate start-up resources to establish their research programs.

Selection Process
The selection process consists of three major stages:
Level 1 – Institutional Screening Committee (ISC):
Applications will first be checked against the minimum prescribed qualifications and eligibility requirements.
Level 2 – Faculty Screening Committee (FSC):
Shortlisted applications will undergo detailed assessment of publications, research credentials, achievements and overall scientific profile.
Final Selection – Scientist Selection Committee (SSC):
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interaction, either in person or through video conferencing. Their research plans, ideas, long-term career goals and potential contribution to BRIC-RGCB will be evaluated.
The SSC will make recommendations regarding selection and the appropriate scientist grade.
