Research and Teaching Assistant (PostDoc): The Department of Geoinformatics at the University of Salzburg is seeking a dedicated Research and Teaching Assistant. This position focuses on independent scientific research, teaching, and collaboration within the research group Geospatial Sustainability Compliance.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Completed doctoral studies in Geoinformatics, Computer Science, or related disciplines
  • Experience in scientific writing and active publication in scientific journals
  • Experience in university teaching
  • Project design and management capabilities
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Proven expertise in Geographic Information Science
  • Advanced knowledge in one of the following areas: GIS & Spatial Analysis, Spatial Data Science, Earth Observation, Sustainability Science, Environmental Monitoring

Desirable Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in funded research projects
  • German language skills (or willingness to learn)

Job Description:

  • Engage in independent scientific research and teaching
  • Provide scientific support in research and teaching within the department
  • Collaborate within the research group Geospatial Sustainability Compliance
  • Develop independent research proposals
  • Manage and process funded research projects
  • Actively participate in administrative tasks
  • Conduct independent teaching of four semester hours per week
