Research Area
- Novel wet-chemical syntheses of nanostructured high entropy metal oxides.
- Electrocatalytic and photoelectrochemical water splitting for hydrogen production.
Eligibility/Qualification
- Completed University Science Degree (M.Sc./Diploma) in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or closely related fields.
- Experience and strong knowledge in chemistry and/or physics laboratories.
- Preferred experience in (photo-)electrochemistry and sol-gel chemistry.
- Good communication skills and proficiency in English (both spoken and written).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and open-minded mentality.
Job Description
As a Research Assistant/PhD Student, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive literature reviews and tabulating experimental observations.
- Developing new synthesis concepts for nanostructured metal oxide thin films.
- Performing sol-gel synthesis and various physicochemical characterizations using techniques such as:
- Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
- Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)
- X-ray Diffraction (XRD)
- X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS)
- Raman Spectroscopy
- Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS)
- Engaging in advanced photoelectrochemical analysis methods.
- Writing publications and assisting in teaching activities at TU Darmstadt.
- Supervising Bachelor and Master theses.
