Eligibility/Qualification
- MSc-degree or equivalent, and PhD in Chemistry with a strong focus on Organic Chemistry or Synthetic Chemical Biology.
- Strong theoretical and practical background in organic chemistry, particularly in dye chemistry.
- Interest in understanding biological processes at the atomic level.
- Some experience with biological techniques.
- Self-driven and passionate team player.
- Excellent English knowledge (written and oral).
Job Description
- Develop research with a high degree of independence.
- Design and conduct multistep organic synthesis of photosensitive molecules, ideally photoswitches and multicomponent reactions.
- Conduct photochemical characterization (quantum yields, lifetime, etc.).
- Perform conjugation via solid-phase synthesis.
- Execute biological characterization, including cell-based experiments, microscopy, and binding experiments.
- Engage in scientific communication (oral and written) in an international environment.
- Supervise students at Bachelor’s and Master’s level (teaching service).
