Research Assistant (Postdoc) – RNA Biochemistry: The Department of Pharmacy, Institute of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Marburg is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant (Postdoc) for a two-year position in the RNA biochemistry research group. The successful candidate will contribute to a project focused on the identification and characterization of viral RNA structures. Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completed scientific university studies (diploma, master’s degree, or comparable) in biology, biochemistry, pharmacy, or a related subject in life and natural sciences
- Doctoral degree or evidence of a doctoral degree close to completion in molecular biology or biochemistry
- Practical experience in biochemistry and/or molecular biology, with a strong interest in scientific research questions
- Previous experience in analyzing RNA structures, performing reporter gene assays, applying and evaluating high-throughput sequencing methods, and/or characterizing RNA-protein interactions is advantageous
- Bioinformatics skills are a plus
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Disposition for own scientific qualification
Job Description: The Research Assistant will be responsible for scientific services in research and teaching. Key tasks include participating in a project for the identification and characterization of viral RNA structures, conducting structural analysis of viral RNAs, characterizing the interactome of viral RNAs, and establishing reporter gene assays. The position offers an opportunity for independent scientific work and further personal qualification.
