Research Assistant (PreDoc/PostDoc): The Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences (KL) invites applications for a Research Assistant position in the Division of Biomedical and Public Health Ethics. This role is part of the “Testing (Bio)Governance” project, which investigates the use of tests during the corona pandemic. The project is funded by the Austrian Science Fund FWF and conducted in collaboration with the University of Klagenfurt.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PreDoc Position: Completed Master’s degree in political science, sociology, science and technology studies, or a comparable discipline.
  • PostDoc Position: Completed PhD in political science, sociology, science and technology studies, or a comparable discipline.
  • Experience with qualitative research methods (especially qualitative interviews and qualitative data analysis).
  • Very good knowledge of German and English.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Previous experience with public health policy analysis is desirable.

Job Description:

  • Planning and conducting empirical research (especially qualitative research).
  • Presentation and publication of research results.
  • Collaboration in the project team, including participation in meetings, literature research, analysis, and interpretation of data.

Additional Information:
The PreDoc position is limited to 36 months with the option of extension. The PostDoc position is limited to 22 months but can be taken up as a part-time position, in which case the term will be extended proportionately.
