Eligibility/Qualification

  • An above-average scientific university degree (Master’s) in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Organic Chemistry, or related disciplines.
  • Experience in organic synthesis of polar molecules is required.
  • Experience with recombinant protein expression, RNA/mRNA is advantageous.
  • Fluent written and spoken German is required; proficiency in English is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, organizational, and independent working skills.

Job Description

  • Conduct a doctoral project focused on the chemoenzymatic synthesis of modified nucleoside 5′-triphosphates for mRNA.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate the synthesis of nucleosides and nucleotides.
  • Express recombinant proteins in E. coli and modify mRNA.
  • Present findings in internal seminars and at conferences, prepare manuscripts for publication, and mentor B.Sc. and M.Sc. students.
