Eligibility & Qualifications
- Education:
- PhD in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related discipline (or equivalent research experience).
- Experience & Technical Skills:
- Substantial hands-on experience in molecular microbiology, recombinant protein expression, and purification.
- Demonstrated background in molecular cloning and enzyme/biochemical characterization.
- Experience investigating bacterial model systems, preferably involving Staphylococcus aureus, bacteriophages, or antimicrobial enzymes/proteins.
- Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to design, conduct, and interpret high-level scientific research independently and as part of a team.
- Strong record of contributing to scientific peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
- Excellent communication, collaborative, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor students and junior colleagues.
Job Description / Key Responsibilities
- Experimental Research: Design and execute molecular, microbiological, and biochemical assays, including protein expression, purification, and functional/structural characterization of endolysins.
- Data Analysis & Dissemination: Analyze, interpret, and validate experimental datasets; draft research papers for high-impact journals and present findings at national and international conferences.
- Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with cross-functional research teams, establish internal and external collaborations, and explore new research directions.
- Mentorship & Lab Support: Assist with training, supervising, and mentoring postgraduate and undergraduate students, as well as junior lab members.
