Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Chemistry, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research, industrial, or commercial experience
- Practical experience in generative AI, preferably for chemistry or a related discipline
- Working knowledge in state-of-the-art machine learning methods, ideally for use in the chemical sciences
- Knowledge of machine learning representations in the chemical sciences, such as graph neural networks
- Proven strong publication track record in machine learning, computational chemistry, or a closely related discipline
- Machine learning algorithms and model development experience is essential
Job Description:
The incumbent will have the opportunity to design and implement novel algorithms in generative AI applicable across large-scale multi-modal chemistry data, collaborating with the larger team at Imperial College London and across the UK-wide AIchemy hub. Responsibilities include co-developing projects in partnership with experimental and theoretical chemists, and machine-learning academics across the Chemistry and Computing Departments. Engaging with the deep science base of Imperial College London, the University of Liverpool, other UK academics, and industrial partners, the role aims to make a significant contribution to the field.
Successful candidates will benefit from the support of AI Futures Grants, designed to assist the next generation of AI leaders in meeting relocation costs to the UK, providing financial support to reimburse relocation costs such as visa fees, the immigration health surcharge, and travel/subsistence expenses.
