Research Area
The successful candidate will engage in research revolving around the electrochemical and corrosion behavior of additively manufactured alloys, particularly in aqueous environments.
Eligibility/Qualification
- Ph.D. in Materials Science or a related field is required by the start date.
- Familiarity with the following areas is preferred:
- Electrochemistry
- Materials characterization (optical and scanning electron microscopy, XPS, STEM, optical profilometry)
- Electrochemical techniques
- FEM modeling
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and good record keeping are essential.
Job Description
- Undertake laboratory and field studies to assess electrochemical and corrosion behavior.
- Analyze samples from collaborators.
- Evaluate models for localized corrosion assessment of alloys.
- Manage laboratory facilities and perform necessary measurements.
- Update equipment and develop operational and safety procedures.
- Support undergraduate and graduate research.
- Assist in guiding students and drafting proposals, reports, and research papers.
