Research Associate in Proteomics: Join our team at the University of Manchester as a Research Associate in Proteomics with a focus on dissecting mechanistic steps in protein synthesis initiation on mRNAs using molecular and cell biological approaches.
Designation: Research Associate in Proteomics
Research Area: Proteomics, Molecular and Cell Biology, Protein Synthesis
Location: Manchester
Eligibility/Qualification: PhD (or equivalent) in a biological science with a strong background in proteomics and computational analyses. Prior experience in quantitative proteomics techniques and computational data analysis. Strong expertise in cell fractionation and mass-spectrometry approaches is essential. Proficiency in using the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as an experimental model is preferred.
Job Description:
We seek a highly motivated molecular life scientist researcher with a PhD in a biological science and a strong background in proteomics and computational analyses. The successful candidate will be involved in quantitatively dissecting mechanistic steps in protein synthesis initiation on mRNAs using a wide range of molecular and cell biological approaches. The role will require expertise in cell fractionation and mass-spectrometry based quantitative proteomics techniques to quantify critical protein and protein/RNA complexes involved in protein synthesis in eukaryotic cells. The project will entail both wet-lab work and computational data analysis, focusing on the use of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as an experimental model.
How to Apply:
To apply, please submit your application online, including a full CV that clearly demonstrates your prior experience and suitability for the role.
Last Date for Apply: 11th November 2024
Please note that all appointments will be made on merit, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.
