Eligibility/Qualification
- Hold or expect to obtain shortly a PhD in relevant sciences subject (Muscle Physiology, Exercise Metabolism, Biochemistry, or a related area).
- Knowledge of skeletal muscle protein metabolism and cell signalling.
- Practical experience in preparation/processing of human biological samples, microscopy, immunoblotting, and gene expression analysis is advantageous.
Job Description
The Research Associate will:
- Conduct experimental human trials involving exercise/nutritional modulation and biological sample collection (muscle and blood) from obese and non-obese individuals.
- Analyze samples using wet-laboratory techniques to assess anabolic/autophagic signalling, gene expression, protein-protein interactions, and enzyme colocalization.
- Maintain accurate records of research and conduct analysis using appropriate methods.
- Work independently and collaborate with other investigators and laboratory members.
- Prepare research findings for publication and presentation.
- Assist with applications for research grant funding and supervise postgraduate students, PhD students, and Technicians.
- Participate in research group activities, including meetings and seminars, while adhering to research governance regulations.
