Indian Association for The Cultivation Of Science, Jadavpur, Kolkata, India, invites applications for the Research Associate Position at IACS from eligible and interested candidates.
About- The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with several members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye-Laws per the relevant Act’s provisions.

Research Area: Theoretical Understanding of Photochemical Phenomena in Biological Systems

Eligibility/Qualification:
Essential qualification: Candidate must have PhD in Biotechnology, with experience in research in nucleic acid and minimum average marks of 60% in B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree.
Desired past research experience: Candidates should have expertise in the field of Nucleic acid chemistry, cancer biology and/or microbiology. Expertise in carrying out various binding studies and carrying out molecular biology experiments like western blot, qRT- PCR, FACS analysis. Should be proficient in cell culture techniques, microbial culture techniques and have a strong publication record.
Job Description:
Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the post of Research Associate (RA- 1) in the School of Chemical Sciences, IACS, Kolkata to work in the field of biochemistry, associated with Prof. Jyotirmayee Dash.
Tenure: This position is temporary (initially for 1 Year and can be extended up to 2 years, subject to recommendation of the research advisory committee at the end of the initial tenure). Candidates will have no right to claim (explicit or implicit) any post in the institute.
Fellowship: As per rules of IACS

Selection procedure: Only shortlisted candidates will be informed by email and called for an interview for the final selection process. No TA will be admissible for attending the interview. IACS reserves the right not to make any appointment if suitable candidates are not found.
