Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Science/ Technology with M.Sc./M.Tech. in Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geomatics Engineering OR Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Science/ Technology with M.Sc./M.Tech. in Geography*/ Botany*/ Forestry*/ Environmental Sciences*/ Civil Engineering/ Computer Science* or allied disciplines (minimum 55% marks) from Govt. recognized Universities/ Institutes with at least PG Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS OR M.Tech. in Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geomatics Engineering/ Allied disciplines with minimum 3 years of research experience and at least Two research publication as a lead author in a SCI/Scopus-indexed journal

Experience in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data processing and big geospatial data analytics.   Proficiency in computer programming (Python, R, Matlab) for geospatial data analysis and modelling.   Knowledge of PolSAR/InSAR techniques, time-series SAR analysis, and experience with platforms/tools such as Google Earth Engine, SNAP, and HPC environments.   Experience in applying machine learning/ deep learning approaches for remote sensing-based modelling and analysis.   Familiarity with vegetation sampling techniques and integration of in situ data with satellite observations.

Job/Position Description- 

Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate under the ISRO-Space Application Centre, Ahmedabadfunded research project titled “Wildfire Impacts on Forest Productivity and Carbon Sequestration Potential in Tropical Forests of Central India” (Project code no. P-32/0025). The positions are purely temporary and coterminus with the project and will be based at the Department of Botany/ Geography, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005, Uttar Pradesh.
