About- Banaras Hindu University, formerly Central Hindu College, is a central public university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It was established jointly in 1916 by the Maharaja of Darbhanga Rameshwar Singh, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, Sir Sunder Lal and British Theosophist and Home Rule League founder Annie Besant.

Eligibility/Qualification –
Essential qualification: A Ph.D. in Genetics & Plant Breeding Plant Pathology/Agricultural Botany/Plant Biotechnology or a related discipline from a reputed University/lnstitution.
Desirable qualification: Proven track record of molecular bi010&’, biotechnology techniques or genomic pipelines, supported by two (02) research papers as a First Author or Equal First Author research publications in SCI-indexed journals.
Age: 40 years (Age relaxation SC/ST/OBC/Physically HandicappedFemale for the GOI rules) as on date of interview

Applications are invited for the Walk-in Interview on 27.06.2026 at 11.00 AM for the following positions for the DBT funded Project entitled “Use of CRIPR,Cas gene editing technologv for functional characterization of a putative cyclic nucleotide-gated channel gene for developing spot blotch resistant wheat genotypes”. Positions are purely temporary and co-terminus With the project in the Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005, U. P.
