Research Fellow in Mathematical Analysis: The University of Birmingham, School of Mathematics, invites applications for a Research Fellowship in Mathematical Analysis. The position is available under the EPSRC funded project “Evolutionary Game Theory under Uncertainty (EP/Y008561/1).” The successful candidate will work with Dr. Hong Duong and contribute to the development of new models and techniques in mathematical analysis.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics (or near completion)
  • Strong research contributions in partial differential equations, numerical analysis, probability theory, or related areas
  • Track record of publications in leading subject-specific journals
  • High-level analytical capability
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of resource assessment and utilization
  • Understanding of management/administration processes
  • Awareness of Equality Act 2010’s protected characteristics

Job Description:

  • Develop research objectives and proposals
  • Analyze and interpret data
  • Disseminate research findings through publications and seminars
  • Supervise students and provide guidance to Ph.D. students
  • Contribute to developing new models, techniques, and methods
  • Undertake research-related management/administration
  • Contribute to departmental/school research activities
  • Engage in enterprise, business development, or public engagement activities
  • Collect research data through various methods
  • Present research outputs at seminars and in academic publications
  • Provide guidance to support staff and students
  • Address problems affecting research objectives and deadlines
  • Promote equality and value diversity in the working culture
