Research Fellow / Postdoctoral Researcher: SOAS University of London invites applications for the position of Research Fellow/Postdoctoral Researcher in the School of History, Religions and Philosophies. The role is part of the dldl/ድልድል project, funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) under the Future Leaders Fellowship scheme. The project aims to address domestic violence in faith communities through interdisciplinary research, sensitization, knowledge exchange, and public engagement activities in East Africa and the UK.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • Research experience in interdisciplinary projects.
  • Familiarity with issues related to domestic violence, faith communities, and decolonial approaches.

Job Description: The Research Fellow/Postdoctoral Researcher will be part of the dldl/ድልድል project, contributing to research, sensitization, and knowledge exchange activities. The role involves collaborating with team members, partners, and stakeholders in East Africa and the UK. Key responsibilities include improving preparedness among clergy and seminarians to respond to domestic violence, increasing religio-cultural sensitivity in the NGO/state-led domestic violence sectors, developing integrated domestic violence systems, and promoting reciprocal research partnerships.
