Research Area
- Nonequilibrium superfluids – Controlling superfluid transport through spatially engineered dissipation.
- Quantum thermodynamics – Addressing fundamental questions in quantum statistical mechanics and quantum many-body systems.
Eligibility/Qualification
- Completion (or near completion for Level A) of a PhD in theoretical quantum physics, condensed matter physics, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality research outputs, evidenced by publications or equivalent contributions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to nonequilibrium quantum systems or quantum thermodynamics.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Job Description
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to and expanding the established UQ research program.
- Collaborating on research projects and managing research funding.
- Publishing in reputable journals and utilizing best practice research methodologies.
- Engaging in supervision and mentorship of students and junior researchers.
- Developing partnerships and demonstrating leadership through mentoring.
- Participating in internal service roles, performing administrative functions, and upholding university values.
