Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata invites application for Research Fellowships for eligible candidates
About- Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the Degree/PG Diplomas and Research Fellowships mentioned below as well as Junior Research Fellowships offered by the Indian Statistical Institute. Candidates who are due to complete the qualifying examination before 01 September, 2021 may also apply. Stipends/Fellowships as mentioned against each programme will be available to the deserving candidates subject to satisfying the minimum academic qualification.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential
PhD or equivalent degree in the areas related to Computer Science / Electrical [Electronics / Information Technology / Statistics / Mathematics / Physics or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after M.E. / M. Tech. or equivalent degree in the areas related to Computer Science / Electrical / Electronics /lnformation Technology / Statistics / Mathematics / Physics. At least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journals related to Machine Leaming and/or Cryptology.
Desirable skills:
Good programming skills (in C/C4+/Python). Project experience in Machine Learning and/or Cryptology.
Age The age limit is 35 years as on 1 st September, 2026 with usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC JPhysically Challenged and women candidates. Age relaxation may be given to outstanding candidates or candidates with relevant experience.
Job/Position Description-
A Walk-in interview will be conducted on 21 st September 2026 (Monday) in the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (CAIML) (4th Floor, S.N. Bose Bhavan) for recruitment of one (01) Project Linked Research Associate – Il (RA —Il) purely on temporary basis to work for the project on “ML-assisted Analysis of Cryptographic Robustness” funded by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), in the Centre for of the Institute.
Pay«61,000/- (Rupees thirty seven thousand only) plus HRA as per rules of the Institute per month.
Tenure of appointment The appointment will initially be for one (01) year starting frpm the date of joining the Institute, which may be extended later/terminated earlier, depending on availability of funds and performance of the candidate.
