Research Position at the Institute of Physics, Charles University, Czech Republic: The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University invites applications for a research position at the Institute of Physics. The successful candidate will engage in the research of tunable properties of ABC graphene on silicon carbide under the supervision of Dr. Martin Rejhon. This role is supported by the Czech Science Foundation project “Tunable graphene/SiC optoelectronics.”

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Required Education: Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a relevant field (awarded no more than 7 years prior to the starting date; extensions may apply for certain circumstances).
  • Practical Experience:
  • Preparation and characterization of 2D materials
  • AFM and its use in characterization of materials
  • Raman spectroscopy
  • Basic optical and electrical measurements
  • Knowledge of lithographic techniques and cleanroom work (advantageous)
  • Programming skills (Python, Matlab)
  • LabView experience (advantageous)
  • Language Skills: Good command of the English language (B2 level or higher).
  • Publication Activity: A record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Work Style: Capable of independent work and collaboration in a team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will join a dynamic research group focused on enhancing and exploring the tunable properties of graphene materials, specifically ABC graphene, in the context of optoelectronic applications. The position offers access to a well-equipped laboratory and an inspiring research environment.
