About– The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hajipur invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) and Project Technical Support-III positions under an ICMR-funded research project focused on developing a nasal spray formulation for pulmonary delivery to control multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB).

Eligibility/Qualification–
Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
Essential Qualification:
- Postgraduate degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or an equivalent discipline.
- Degree must be obtained from a recognized Board/University/Institute.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
- PhD thesis submitted in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or an equivalent discipline.
- Preference will be given to candidates with at least 1 year of research experience in:
- Protein isolation from mammalian/bacterial samples
- LC-MS-based omics studies
- Protein/sample characterization
Project Technical Support-III
Candidates must meet any one of the following qualifications:
Route 1:
- 12th in Science
- Diploma in MLT/DMLT
- 5 years of experience in a medical/research laboratory
OR
Route 2:
- Three-year graduate degree in Life Sciences
- 2 years of experience in a medical/research laboratory
OR
Route 3:
- Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences
- No professional experience required
Desirable Experience:
- In-vitro anti-TB assays
- Cell culture handling
- In-vivo animal experiments
- Knowledge of handling Mycobacterium tuberculosis cultures
All qualifications must be from recognized Boards/Universities/Institutes.
Job Description
Project Research Scientist-I
The selected candidate will work on the ICMR-sponsored project aimed at developing a nasal spray formulation for pulmonary delivery to control multidrug-resistant tuberculosis. Responsibilities may involve pharmaceutical and biological research, protein isolation from biological samples, LC-MS-based omics studies, sample characterization, experimental design, data interpretation, documentation, and other research activities associated with the project.
The candidate may be required to work at NIPER Hajipur and ICMR-NIRT Chennai according to project requirements.
Project Technical Support-III
The selected candidate will provide technical and laboratory support for the project. Responsibilities may include laboratory-based research activities, in-vitro anti-TB assays, cell culture handling, in-vivo animal experiments, sample preparation, laboratory documentation, and other technical activities assigned under the project.
Experience or familiarity with Mycobacterium tuberculosis culture handling will be advantageous.
Job/Position Description-
Both positions are purely temporary and contractual, with an initial appointment of one year, and will remain co-terminus with the project. Depending on project requirements, selected candidates may be required to work at NIPER Hajipur and/or ICMR-NIRT Chennai.
