Eligibility/Qualifications

  • Education: PhD in bioorganic chemistry, molecular biotechnology, biochemical engineering, or related area.
  • Experience:
  • Essential: Design and characterization of redox hydrogels, interface with living systems, microscopy, and spectroscopy techniques.
  • Bonus: Pure microbial culture experience and knowledge of chemical modifications (e.g., click chemistry).
  • Skills: Excellent communication, team-working skills, high self-motivation, and proficiency in English.

Job Description

The core responsibilities of the scientist include:

  • Development of redox hydrogel-cyanobacteria photobioanode.
  • Application of holistic microscopy-based analytics for characterizing the bio-hydrogel interface and electron transfer kinetics.
  • Engineering the bio-hydrogel interface to improve electron transfer kinetics.
  • Developing a prototype system for photobioammonium production.
  • Collaborating closely with project partners and driving the project’s progress.
  • Publishing findings in high-reputation journals and presenting at leading scientific conferences.
  • Submitting a half-page research concept and methodology as part of the application.
