Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in Biophysics or a closely related field.
  • Strong skills and experience in advanced biophysical instrumentation and force spectroscopy (e.g., optical tweezers, magnetic tweezers, AFM).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and scientific programming.
  • Aptitude for understanding relevant biophysical and biochemical concepts such as DNA polymer physics, protein structure and function, mechanochemistry, and single-molecule kinetics.
  • Independent, well-organized, and reliable work style.
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Leadership abilities to guide fellow researchers on quantitative biophysical experiments.

Job Description

As a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher, you will:

  • Design and develop novel biophysical instrumentation, including optical and magnetic tweezers, to study DNA replication and chromatin organization.
  • Utilize both commercial and custom-built systems for instrumentation development.
  • Collaborate with team members to acquire and analyze single-molecule datasets using biophysical modeling.
  • Engage with experts in molecular biology and biochemistry to complement biophysical approaches.
  • Lead interdisciplinary research collaborations with partners at the University of Oxford, Francis Crick Institute, and Hubrecht Institute.
  • Publish research findings and contribute to the advancement of single-molecule biophysics.
