Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in an appropriate engineering discipline or a closely related science/engineering field by the time of appointment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent, relevant practical experience in applied research and technology development.
- Professional experience working with industry partners or national laboratories/government research entities.
- Demonstrated track record or strong potential for securing external research funding and publishing high-impact work.
Job Description & Responsibilities
- Teaching & Mentoring: Deliver undergraduate and graduate lectures and hands-on laboratory courses within the MMET program; supervise and mentor graduate students.
- Research Program Development: Establish a sustainable, independent, and externally funded applied research program.
- Service: Actively participate in departmental, college, and university committees, student organization advising, and engagement with professional societies.
- Industry Collaboration: Leverage industry connections to support applied engineering research, student internships, and capstone projects.
