Two PhD Positions (4 years) on the Effects of Inbreeding on Robustness, Resilience, and Replicability in Mice
This research project at the University of Bern seeks two Ph.D. students to investigate the influence of inbreeding on developmental robustness and stress resilience in laboratory mice. The study also explores how these factors impact the replicability of research findings and animal welfare. The positions are funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and are part of a broader effort to promote rigorous and responsible animal research. The successful candidates will be joining a dynamic team of scientists and technicians engaged in national and international research projects.
Eligibility: To be eligible for these positions, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Hold a university degree in biology or biomedical sciences.
- Possess advanced training in statistics.
- Expertise in data analysis and quantitative genetics (for PhD Student 1) or experience with laboratory mice and morphometrics (for PhD Student 2) will be an advantage.
