Description:
As a University Assistant Predoctoral, you will conduct independent research under the supervision of Ass.-Prof. Karin Ortmayr, PhD. This role involves studying cancer cell quiescence and recurrence, applying advanced techniques like CRISPR-Cas9, live-cell imaging, and mass spectrometry-based metabolomics. Responsibilities include:
- Mastering cell culture techniques and mass spectrometry.
- Performing genetic perturbations in a high-throughput setting.
- Utilizing computational methods to analyze data.
- Investigating metabolic adaptations and preparing first-author manuscripts for publication.
- Participating in teaching activities, including supervising theses and practical courses.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Interest in both wet lab and computational work; basic programming skills are advantageous.
- Experience in cell culture and/or data analysis is preferred but not mandatory.
- Motivated and collaborative individual with strong communication skills.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (C1 Level); good German skills are desirable.
