About- Union Public Service Commission invites Applications for the Following Posts:

Research/Job Area-  Chemistry

Location- India

Eligibility/Qualification–

Age  Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 40 years for Scheduled Castes as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Not exceeding 38 Years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government/UT/ Government Servant upto Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualification (s)  A. Educational
Master’s degree in Chemistry from a recognized University or Institution.

Note:- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the U.P.S.C in the case of the candidates otherwise well qualified.

B. Experience

Three years’ experience in chemical analysis of ores and minerals from a laboratory recognized as a Research Laboratory by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research or Department of Science and Technology or any other such Government organization carrying out chemical analysis of ores and minerals.

Note: The qualification(s) regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates belonging to Schedule Caste, if at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from this community possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancy reserved for them.
Desirable Qualification (s)  Doctorate in Chemistry from a recognized University or Institution.

Duty(ies)  To carry out chemical analysis of ores and minerals by conventional as well as by instrumental technique. Supervise the work of analysis of ores, minerals, ore dressing products and environmental samples carried out by the Assistant Chemist and other junior staff. Undertake the maintenance and repairing work of the instruments in the Chemical Laboratory. Coordination and standardization of instruments/equipment using suitable methods.
Probation  One Year
Headquarters  Headquarters is in Nagpur (Maharashtra) with service liability anywhere in India.
Other Details  The post is General Central Services Group A Gazetted. Non-Ministerial. The vacancies for the post are permanent.
