WiRe Postdoctoral Fellowships: The University of Münster’s International Office, Department for Researchers and Staff, is delighted to announce the availability of WiRe Fellowships for international female postdoctoral researchers. This initiative, started in 2018, aims to address the unique challenges faced by women in research. The fellowships allow participants to conduct research in collaboration with a professor at the University of Münster, for periods ranging from 4 to 8 months, with the possibility of extending up to a year via a matching option.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Must have obtained or be about to earn a PhD (the PhD must be completed by the fellowship start).
  • Should not have worked at a German higher education institution in the past six months.
  • Must have completed the majority of academic qualifications outside of Germany.
  • Should have a research project or an idea for a project in cooperation with a professor at the University of Münster, completable within 4 to 8 months.
  • Must have ideas for disseminating research and experiences at the University of Münster to a broader community.
  • Willingness to participate in digital communication activities.

Job Description:

  • Conduct a research project in cooperation with a professor at the University of Münster.
  • For on-site stays, the fellowship offers €2800 per month; for remote options, €2200 per month.
  • Additional child allowance of approximately €200 per month for each child.
  • Engage actively in the fellowship community through meetings, workshops, and mentoring.
  • Participate in research communication projects and submit 1-2 progress reports depending on the length of the fellowship.
  • Use the university’s communication channels, networks, and research infrastructure.

  3. Ensure that your University of Münster cooperation partner sends the WiRe Letter of Recommendation to the WiRe office by September 20th, 2024.
