Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. degree in biophysics, computational biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Relevant scientific achievements and active participation in scientific life.
- Experience in molecular dynamics simulations, Monte Carlo simulations, docking simulations, and Unix with programming skills (python, bash).
- Knowledge of cell biology and experience in large-scale simulations are welcome.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
Job Description: The successful candidate will be involved in a 3-year Postdoctoral position, contributing to the project titled “Dioscuri Centre for Modelling of Posttranslational Modifications.” Key responsibilities include:
- Multi-Scale Modelling of ECM: Develop simulation models of the extracellular matrix using cryo-electron tomography reconstructions and mesoscopic simulations.
- Dynamic Analysis of Glycoproteins: Investigate the influence of glycan modifications on the diffusion properties of glycoproteins, particularly neurotransmitters and synaptic components.
- Experimental-Computational Synergy: Collaborate with glyconeurobiology experts to cross-validate computational findings with single-protein tracking experiments.
- Disease Relevance and Translation: Explore how altered glycan interactions contribute to neurological diseases, offering insights for therapeutic strategies.
