PhD Student Position in Stem Cell: The International Institute of Molecular Mechanisms and Machines (IMol) Polish Academy of Sciences invites applications for a fully-funded PhD position in Dr. Maciej Cieśla’s group. The research focuses on understanding RNA metabolism during early steps of stem cell activation.

PhD Student Position in RNA Metabolism and Stem Cell Activation

Eligibility/Qualification:

• Master’s degree or equivalent in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields (obtained after 2020).
• Well-structured knowledge in cell biology and biochemistry.
• Hands-on training in molecular biology, cell biology, or biochemistry lab.
• Good command of English.
• Interest in developing own lines of research.
• Previous experience with primary mammalian cell culture, bioinformatics, or flow cytometry analysis is advantageous but not obligatory.

Job Description:

• Plan and perform experiments related to RNA metabolism and stem cell activation.
• Keep a record of experimental details.
• Conduct data analysis, including bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing, results interpretation, and discussion.
• Present results at internal and external meetings/conferences.
• Prepare manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
• Actively participate in the research conducted in the lab.
