Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Dynamics: The University of Oxford, Department of Physics, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Single Molecule Histone Dynamics. The project, initially for a fixed term of 2 years with possible extension, focuses on investigating the molecular mechanisms of chromatin replication using single-molecule imaging, biochemical, and biophysical approaches. Location: Department of Physics, Clarendon Lab, and Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery, University of Oxford

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in molecular biophysics, biochemistry, or a related field (or close to completion).
  • Strong background in recombinant DNA and protein production methods.
  • Experience in biochemical and/or biophysical approaches to study proteins and their interactions.
  • Previous experience in single-molecule biophysics or DNA transactions is advantageous.

Job Description:

  • Investigate molecular mechanisms of chromatin replication using single-molecule imaging and biochemical/biophysical methods.
  • Responsible for day-to-day project management and planning in consultation with the PI.
  • Communicate research at internal and external meetings, contribute to scientific papers, and collaborate on reports.
  • Opportunity for teaching, including lecturing, small group teaching, and tutoring of undergraduates and graduate students.
