Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Operations Research, Transportation, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science.
- Strong knowledge of data science and combinatorial optimization (mathematical modeling, algorithms, heuristics, metaheuristics).
- Proficient programming skills.
- Ability to work independently, in a team, and take leadership in research tasks.
- Effective communication with scientific partners, companies, and cities.
- Passion for scientific research and contributing to a stimulating research environment.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral.
Job Description:
- Conduct research and experiments to optimize, pilot, and assess logistical innovations.
- Focus on designing and operationalizing multimodal urban logistics, including inland waterways and micro-delivery services.
- Tackle uncertainties related to electrification and automation of the fleet.
- Use operations research, AI methods, behavioral models, and simulation tools for research objectives.
- Collaborate with project partners, stakeholders, and contribute to a stimulating research environment.
- Assist in teaching activities as required.
Conditions of employment:
- 4-year employment period (2 contracts: 1.5 years + 2.5 years).
- Salary ranging from €2,770 to €3,539 per month.
- Enrollment in TU Delft Graduate School.
