Postdoctoral Researcher in Structural Biology and Biochemistry

Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Area: Structural Biology and Biochemistry, with a focus on the molecular mechanism of the riboflavin synthase/lumazine synthase complex.

Location: Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology, Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Holding a doctoral degree.
  • Relevant scientific achievements and active participation in scientific life.
  • Motivation and interest in molecular and structural biology.
  • Work experience in wet laboratory, preferably in protein engineering, enzymology, or structural biology projects.
  • Background studies in fields related to the project, such as molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, structural biology, cell biology, or chemical biology.
  • A good publication record with at least one first authorship.
  • Self-development attitude with a desire to establish a scientific career.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, teach experimental techniques, and communicate effectively in English.

Job Description: The successful candidate will contribute to the project by gaining experience in laboratory evolution and protein cage-based technology. Responsibilities include conducting wet laboratory experiments, focusing on protein engineering, enzymology, and structural biology. The candidate will work within a collaborative team and contribute to the creation of an atmosphere of trust and respect. Teaching experimental techniques and scientific methodology to students is also part of the role.
