Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Social Network Analysis and Neural Development in Emerging Adulthood
Location: University of Groningen, Department of Sociology, Groningen, Netherlands
Eligibility/Qualification: The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. in the social sciences, with a focus on social network analysis and the influence of young people on each other’s behavior. Strong statistical skills, a relevant publication record, and proficiency in English and Dutch are essential.
Job Description: The successful candidate will actively contribute to the GUTS Social Networks work package, involving the collection and analysis of longitudinal network, survey, and neuroimaging data in emerging adulthood. The focus will be on understanding how neural and self-regulatory development shapes social behaviors in complex social environments.

Conditions of Employment: In accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, the position offers a competitive salary (€3,226 to €5,090 gross per month for a full-time position), holiday allowance, end-of-the-year allowance, and attractive secondary terms of employment. The appointment is temporary, either 0.8 FTE for 2.5 years or 1.0 FTE for 2 years, starting from September 1, 2024.
Interviews: Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, 2024, with candidates possibly required to make a presentation. The expected start date for the position is around September 2024.
