Summary This PhD project focuses on exploring a novel path toward developing robust quantum bits using Andreev bound states in hybrid semiconductor-superconductor devices. While Andreev states provide a highly tunable quantum degree of freedom, their coherence is typically restricted by sensitivity to charge, flux, and magnetic noise. The goal of this research is to solve this by embedding Andreev-based qubits into engineered superconducting circuits, offering hardware-level protection while keeping control fast and flexible.

Job Description The successful candidate will be tasked with:
- Developing theoretical and numerical models for hybrid Andreev-circuit devices.

- Exploring optimization strategies, including machine learning approaches, to find optimal device parameters that maximize robustness and overall qubit performance.
- Establishing design principles for protected Andreev qubits to contribute to scalable and experimentally realistic quantum hardware.
