Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, Applied Math, or related scientific field
- Interest in photonic systems and light technology
- Knowledge of photonics, laser physics, nonlinear dynamics, or signal processing is advantageous
- Strong programming skills, particularly in Matlab, Python, or similar languages
- Experience with experimental optical setups and equipment is beneficial
- Proficiency in spoken and written English (CEFR level C1 or equivalent)
Description:
The selected candidate will join the Brussels Photonics (B-PHOT) research group at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) to work on the LADYBIRD project. Responsibilities include constructing experimental setups, exploring fiber sensing strategies utilizing laser dynamics, benchmarking techniques, and collaborating with fellow researchers to optimize fiber sensor architectures.
