Postdoctoral researcher in electrocatalysis: Electrocatalysis will play a pivotal role in the transition from our fossil fuel-based society to a more sustainable and renewable society. In this project, you will investigate novel electrocatalytic materials for applications in hydrogen fuel cells.
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Electrocatalysis
Location: Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Luneau Research Group, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Must have a PhD in chemistry or chemical physics or similar, with expertise in electrocatalysis or electrochemistry.
- Experience with materials synthesis and/or in situ/operando characterization is a merit.
- Motivated to work in the lab, learn new techniques, and take initiative.
- Organized and able to work independently, as part of a collaborative research group.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English.
- Hold a doctoral degree awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline.
Job Description:
Throughout the project, you will aim to design and develop highly efficient electrocatalysts for hydrogen fuel cells. Responsibilities include:
- Synthesizing electrocatalytic materials with high atomic efficiency of metals, including single atom electrocatalysts.
- Characterizing prepared catalysts using advanced techniques such as XPS, SEM, TEM, XRD, etc.
- Conducting electrocatalytic tests in electrochemical cells.
- Developing in situ/operando characterization techniques to elucidate the nature of active sites during reaction.
- Participating in scientific meetings to present research results and develop networks.
- Supervising and training new students in the group.
How to Apply:
The application should be marked with 20240268 and written in English. Submit electronically as PDF files. Application components include:
- CV with a complete list of publications and two references.
- Personal letter (1-3 pages) introducing yourself, describing previous experience with electrocatalysis and/or materials synthesis and/or in situ/operando characterization, and outlining future goals.
- Attested copies of completed education, grades, and other certificates.
