This position offers the opportunity to work in the Tokamak Scenario Development division and participate in research activities at the tokamak ASDEX Upgrade and other tokamaks.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in experimental physics
  • Profound knowledge of Tokamak physics, scenarii, and diagnostics
  • Experience in the analysis of experimental data
  • Experience in modeling nonlinear plasma dynamics

Job Description: As a Postdoctoral Researcher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing experimental data from diagnostics at ASDEX Upgrade and other tokamaks
  • Creating a database of heat flows during disruptions
  • Correlating data with the dynamics of disruptions
  • Comparing data with nonlinear MHD simulations
  • Applying methods to other machines
