MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship Offer: The Nanobiotechnology research group at IMDEA Nanociencia, led by Prof. Álvaro Somoza, is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to develop a collaborative project for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship (PF) Call 2024. The group focuses on using bioactive molecules and nanoparticles in nanomedicine and nanotechnology, with a particular interest in applying modified nanoformulations to pancreatic cancer, uveal melanoma, and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship Hosting Offer – Novel Approaches in Nanomedicine for Therapeutic and Diagnostic Purposes
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Nanomedicine and Nanotechnology
Location: Madrid, Spain
Eligibility/Qualification: Interested and eligible researchers should meet the criteria outlined on the IMDEA Nanociencia MSCA page. Candidates must possess a strong background in fields such as organic chemistry, pharmacy, biochemistry, or biology, and have experience in developing nanomedical tools and sensors.
Job Description:
- Develop novel therapies using nucleic acid therapeutics combined with nanocarriers to address the delivery and uptake challenges of nucleic acids.
- Utilize biological markers for early diagnosis of rare diseases, focusing on the overexpression of miRNAs in biological fluids.
- Perform selective base pairing of oligonucleotides and leverage the biological and colorimetric properties of nanomaterials for therapy development and naked-eye detection of oligonucleotides.
- Gain valuable skills in nanomedicine, including the chemical modification of oligonucleotides, synthesis of core system nanoparticles, biological evaluation in cell culture experiments, and validation of nucleic acids sensors in biologically relevant samples.
How to Apply: Interested candidates should send the following documents to Álvaro Somoza at alvaro.somoza@imdea.org (cc proyectos.nanociencia@imdea.org):
