Eligibility/Qualification

  • Education: Ph.D. in microbiology, chemical biology, biochemistry, biological engineering, or a related field.
  • Skills and Experience:
    • Strong experimentalist with project-level orientation and commitment.
    • Expertise in designing and interpreting complex experiments involving microbes and compounds.
    • Team-oriented with the ability to share workload and credit.
    • Capable of coordinating in dynamic interdisciplinary and inter-institutional environments.
    • Creative problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong writing skills, evidenced by a robust publication record.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficient in statistical analysis and interpretation of large-scale datasets.
    • Experience with microbial culture, automated microscopy, and molecular assay design.
    • Experience in micro-fabrication using lithography and microfluidics devices is a plus.

Job Description

The selected Postdoctoral Associate will:

  • Utilize the kChip droplet microfluidic platform to discover new molecular entities.
  • Collaborate deeply with the Antimicrobial Discovery Center and other project teams within the ARPA-H DARTS program.
  • Lead aspects of microfluidics, data collection, and analysis.
  • Partner with Dr. Blainey and other collaborating groups to advance the project and meet reporting requirements.
  • Potentially supervise up to 2 other researchers.
  • Contribute to additional applications of the kChip and other technological platforms.
