Postdoctoral Position in Biomedical Research: Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich) is a leading research university in Europe, committed to the highest international standards of excellence in research and teaching since its founding in 1472. The Institute of Cardiovascular Physiology at the Biomedical Center (BMC), part of the LMU Faculty of Medicine, invites applications for a postdoctoral position focused on investigating the function of immune cells during inflammatory diseases.

Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Area: Biomedical Research, focusing on inflammation, immune cell trafficking, and molecular mechanisms of immune responses.

Location: Planegg-Martinsried, Munich, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD degree (or comparable) in pharmacy, biology, biochemistry, medicine, or related natural science disciplines.
  • Keen interest in modern imaging techniques, cell- and molecular biology, with some knowledge in bioinformatics.
  • Practical experience in working with mouse models and imaging is desirable.
  • Basic willingness to work experimentally with laboratory animals (preclinical mouse models) is required.
  • Very good knowledge of English.
  • Organizational and team skills, flexibility, curiosity, responsible work ethics, and a passion for research.
  • Interest in working independently on scientific questions.

Job Description:

  • Investigating molecular mechanisms of inflammatory immune responses using advanced bioimaging tools and mouse models.
  • Performing in vitro cell adhesion and recruitment assays with various myeloid cells.
  • Conducting intravital microscopy experiments to study immune cell trafficking during immune responses.
  • Collaborating with a highly motivated international team.
