Eligibility/Qualification
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with protein expression and purification, ideally from mammalian cells.
- Structural biology experience (ideally cryo-EM).
- Experience with single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopy (preferred but not required).
- Training in chemistry (bioconjugation, peptide chemistry, etc.) is a plus.
- Skills in scientific programming (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) are highly valued.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in laboratory techniques, including safety procedures.
- Effective communication skills in writing and orally.
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocols.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Pursue research goals established by the Program Director (Dr. John Janetzko).
- Lead primary data collection and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Analyze data, prepare, and present research findings in journal papers and conferences.
- Train, supervise, and guide student workers, graduate students, and professional research assistants.
- Contribute to and lead grant writing activities.
