Research Area:
Investigation of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) with a focus on traction bronchiectasis (TBx) and honeycombing (HC) phenomena.
Location:
KU Leuven, Leuven, Belgium
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Bio-engineering, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Sciences, or related field
- Proficiency in computational analysis (single-cell omics analysis, image analysis, or both)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively
- Self-driven, proactive individual with good communication skills
- Basic laboratory skills are advantageous
- Fluency in English, knowledge of Dutch is a plus
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- Assessing the 3D structure of HC/TBx using advanced imaging technologies and explant lung biobank.
- Molecular characterization of TBx/HC using multi-omics and spatially resolved transcriptomics datasets.
- Engaging in computational analysis to understand the morphological and molecular dynamics of these disease aspects.
