Eligibility / Qualification

Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
    • Engineering, Computer Science, Or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Python or another object-oriented programming language with the ability to quickly learn Python.
  • Knowledge of Applied Statistics and/or Machine Learning methods.
  • Familiarity with optimization techniques is desirable.
  • Interest or background in energy systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary and diverse research team.

Job Description

The successful graduate researcher will contribute to the development of an innovative M3 Modelling Platform capable of integrating multiple energy sectors, spatial and temporal scales, and different energy carriers into a unified modelling framework.

Research responsibilities include:

  • Developing scalable energy system models.
  • Applying machine learning algorithms for energy modelling.
  • Performing applied statistical analyses.
  • Designing optimization approaches for complex energy systems.
  • Implementing parallel computing techniques.
  • Creating advanced visualization tools.
  • Collaborating with researchers from multiple disciplines.
  • Supporting research aimed at accelerating global energy transition and decarbonization.
