Eligibility/Qualification:
- A Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Engineering, Materials Science, Biotechnology, Biology/Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related fields.
- Experience in 3D printing, bioreactor design, materials synthesis, 3D in vitro models, and/or cell culture is highly desirable.
- Interest in multidisciplinary work, motivation to learn from diverse scientific areas, and the ability to work in an international environment.
- Good interpersonal skills and proficiency in English (written and oral).
Job Description:
The PhD candidate will be involved in:
- Fabrication of 3D in vitro lung models using hybrid photocurable bioresins combined with bioprinting techniques.
- Designing and developing a bioreactor to simulate breathing motions.
- Defining mechanical stimulation protocols and monitoring tissue growth.
- Conducting mechanoadaptive cell marker studies to ensure the 3D models represent human physiological features.
- Validating the 3D models as drug testing platforms.
