Postdoctoral Associate – Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Development and Functioning of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Symbioses

Location: Ithaca, NY

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in plant biology or a relevant discipline
  • Strong publication record
  • Expertise in molecular biology, genetics, and/or biochemistry
  • Background in membrane transport, plant cell biology, or plant-fungal interactions is advantageous

Job Description:
The successful candidates will work on two postdoctoral positions:

  1. Investigating the genetic program for endosymbiosis with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi.
  2. Studying phosphate transporters and molecular mechanisms regulating symbiotic maintenance.

The research will be conducted in association with Medicago truncatula and Brachypodium distachyon using a combination of genetics, genomics, biochemistry, and cell imaging approaches.
