PostDoc/Researcher: The University of Twente’s Department of Biomechanical Engineering seeks an exceptional Post-Doctoral Fellow or Researcher to contribute to the PERSONIFY project, jointly funded by the Össur and Ottobock Research Trust Fund. The successful candidate will join an international team working on novel and ambitious projects in the fields of biomechatronics, wearable robotics, and neuromechanical engineering.

Eligibility/Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering
- Experience with embedded hardware specification, firmware programming for embedded systems, signal collection and processing
- Proficiency in C++ and Python programming
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, high motivation, and excellent communication abilities
- Prior experience with mechatronic devices is advantageous
- Proficiency in written and oral English
Job Description:
- Develop a system that integrates real-time software with dedicated EMG electrodes and amplifiers, custom-made vibrotactors, and an open-source ankle prosthesis
- Expand the developed system to make it suitable for outdoor conditions and real-world tests with lower-limb amputees
- Collaborate with researchers from Aalborg University, Ottobock, Roessingh Research and Development, and Radboud University
- Collaborate with top scientists in biomechatronics and neuromechanical modeling
- Facilitate and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
- Coordinate research activities with clinical centers for human-robot interaction studies
- Full-time position for 15-18 months with a gross salary between €3345 and €5,278 per month, depending on education, experience, and qualifications
