Job Description:
The postdoctoral researcher will focus on studying the generation of giant THz/GHz electromagnetic pulses by petawatt laser pulses interacting with solid targets. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing models to describe laser-to-THz/GHz conversion mechanisms such as coherent transition radiation, shielding surface currents, and antenna-type emissions
- Analyzing the performance and angular distribution of radiated THz power
- Using particle-in-cell simulations to describe radiation from electron and ion populations
- Collaborating with CEA-DIF and CELIA researchers
- Contributing to the interpretation of experimental results from CELIA’s ECLIPSE IV facility and other laboratories
